DaDa Booklet

Independent Brief

The Dada Booklet started as a brief focused on discussing and presenting the DaDa movement to people interested in Design history. The booklet discussed the key figures of the movement like Marcel Duchamp, Hugo Bell, and Hans Arp. Taking the anti-establishment motif movement, I combined with a handcrafted style to create a visual metaphor for the movement.

The brief then expanded when I started to think in terms of Typography that rejects establishment whilst understanding the rules of typography. This was achieved with my typeset ‘Dastamp’. The Typeset uses interchangeable weights, stems, serifs, and other character changes to challenge the identity of type but remains readable. As a typeset it uses lend itself to bold and personal uses like Punk Posters or Grunge style media.
